InDesign Integration

Ad Sales Genius can sync with Adobe InDesign. It has been designed so that the communication goes both ways between platforms, which means any changes made to the Flat Plan in Ad Sales Genius will translate to the layout in InDesign and vice versa.

To Install Adobe InDesign with Ad Sales Genius:

  1. Click Delivery using the left-hand navigation menu to see your flat plan.

  2. Click the Flat Plan tab to see your flat plans.

  3. Click the Install Adobe InDesign button to enter your credentials and connect the two systems.



  4. Use the InDesign Plugin window to complete the necessary steps to download and install the plugin. 

Using Adobe InDesign with Ad Sales Genius

With the two systems connected, you can now work in Ad Sales Genius or Adobe Indesign.

To integrate your Ad Sales Genius flat plan into Adobe InDesign

If you primarily work in Ad Sales Genius, you can integrate your flat plan into InDesign.

Note: This integration is now compatible with InDesign 2021!

  1. Place your ads as you normally would within the Ad Sales Genius Flat Plan. Check out this article for more information.
  2. Navigate to InDesign, click Windows > Extensions > Ad Sales Genius to view the plug-in.
  3. Click on the Arrow Drop-Down on an ad and click Open Insertion to open a shortcut to assign a new ad to an Ad Sales Genius user.



  4. Use the Ad Request drop-down to view the status of ads, upload proofs, create an ad request, or view the insertion.



  5. Go to the Issue Upload drop-down to upload a PDF of the entire InDesign plan to the ASG Flat Plan.

Saving Asset Path Setting in InDesign

If you are using a PC, you may experience some permissions challenges with the shared asset path between Ad Sales Genius and InDesign. To resolve this, you can manually set the asset path in InDesign.

  1. Click the Settings icon from within the Ad Sales Genius plugin.

  2. Designate the folder path to your assets on your local machine. This is where you will want to store your files. 
    Note: You must ensure that Adobe and the Ad Sales Genius plugin have read and write permissions to access this folder.
